For the first time this year, the URUSHI Project is exhibited in Kyoto!

Since 2021, this ongoing collaboration between conceptual artist Jun’ichiro ISHII, lacquer artist Ryuji Onari, and contemporary artist Mizuki Kajihara is exploring our everyday habits. How humans and nature interact through the work of traditional lacquer scraper? The last research highlights our relation to time, consumption and resources through the Japanese lacquer and its use.
